Hero Honda touches 4.67 lakh units sales mark in January 2011
The HHML, world's largest 2-wheeler maker, has started its 2011 campaign in flying colors. The New Year started with a strong sales performance for the bike making giant.

The company has touched sales of 4lakh plus in January which is the 9th month in a row for the company to sell 4 lakh plus units per month. The best performance was though recorded by HH Splendor and HH Passion and Hero Honda Karizma. The sales figures by the end of Jan were 466,524, which showed 20 per cent increase as against its sales same time during January 2010.



Mr. Anil Dua Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales commented, "Our strong sales for January have provided an excellent start to the New Year and also helped continue the sales momentum of the last calendar year. Going forward, we aim to build on this strong trend and further consolidate our position as the market leader."

Bajaj reports 18% increase in sales and has exported a million 2 wheelers in 2010
The company statement from Bajaj Auto reads 3,13,583 units were sold in January 2011 which included 266,018 two wheeler units (about 68% contribution coming from Bajaj Pulsar and Discover) which is 18% increase as compared to same period last year.

Bajaj Auto, India's second largest bike maker with flagship models including Pulsar Discover has achieved a big milestone during 2010; exported 1.2 million 2 wheelers to overseas markets during 2010. The company also registered a 35% increase in the growth of its export market from its Pulsar (all variants) and Discover (all variants).

The company has expanded its export biz to countries like Africa, Latin America and Asia. In fact during 2010 a big share of 50% of exports was shipped to Africa. Asia countries take 34% of the share and about 15% of export business comes from Latin American nations.

Bajaj Auto has a 250cc Pulsar for launch this year and it should further push the brand Pulsar in the inland and overseas markets.

Bajaj Auto now aims to become market leader in the country's huge two wheeler market.

Yamaha registers growth of 27.6 per cent
If Hero Honda registers awesome sales performance India Yamaha Motors is not silent and dull, the popularity gaining India's 2-wheeler major has presented a growth close to 30% (27.6 per cent to be precise) in January, 2011 alone. With this the two wheeler manufacturing company believes that it has gotten a strong pushing to its sales performance, thanks to Yamaha SZ bike that bagged many Automobile Awards for 2010 in India. The company has sold about 28,597 two wheeler units in January as against 22,408 during same time last year.

India Yamaha Motors sells two wheelers in the domestic as well as exports to overseas markets, and reports say that the company has been pegged at a good position at both levels.

The company tasted huge success and had got tremendous popularity post Yamaha FZ and the Yamaha YZF R15 launches.

TVS Motors register 30 per cent growth in sales in January 2011
TVS Motors, India's third largest two wheeler major, reports 30% growth for January 2011.

The company reported a sale of 165,152 units during January 2011 as against 127,288 units during January 2010 which account to 29% growth. The bikes that push the sales performance of the company in the domestic and the overseas market include Apache, Jive, Wego and TVS Star City.

In fact the TVS Motors itself is surprised at the sales performance of its scooters which picked up a great pace in the domestic market, reporting a 60 per cent growth as compared to January 2010. The company's exports to overseas markets also picked up well; 19,498 units of two wheelers in comparison to 16,074 units of last January.

With TVS Wego winning scooter of the year award for it elegant styling design and fuel efficiency the TVS two-wheelers especially scooters are getting great response from the market. Its Apache, Jive and Star have been the highest rated in the TVS' stable.

Suzuki Motorcycle India reports 40 per cent sales growth
Among all the two wheeler makers it has been a delight of sales from Suzuki Motorcycle India - the maker of the award winning Suzuki Slingshot, has reported a growth to the tune of 40 per cent sales in January 201. The company sold 28,898 units against only 20, 448 units during January 2010.

Suzuki Motorcycle India is one two wheeler company that boasts of models in all bike segments. However Suzuki Slingshot has rose to popularity lately in the commuter bike segment and has been performing well against Hero Honda, TVS and Bajaj competition.

The Hayabusa and the Suzuki GSXR are popular as superbikes and Suzuki Access has been surprisingly doing well against Activa. In fact there is a long waiting period for the Access. Suzuki GS 150R has been raising in the popularity charts as much as the Suzuki Intruder M1800R.

The two wheeler company has planned some launches during 2011 including GW250 and Suzuki Gladius. There is another scooter which is readying to come off the veils which is Suzuki Skydrive.
