Greetings. I am Raghavan from Chennai and 6 feet tall.
Last week I test - rided Classic 350, Classic 500, Himalayan and Thunder bird 350. My driving attributes are
(I) I drive thrice a week in Chennai traffic for 40 kms to and fro office.
(ii) Monthly once, I go on long drives say about 300 to 400 kms and back.
Some times longer on bumpy roads.
(iii) I am looking for less maintenance, good suspension and grip, no recurring Clutch problems, smooth riding and good posture.
My heart goes for Himalayan but I heard there were some recurring problems and that it has been relaunched with FI. Has the previous concerns been addressed in the relaunched Himalayan. Does it generate too much heat?
Can I go for classic 350 or thunder bird 350 or Himalayan? Kindly guide me which Enfield bike would most suit me in the long run.
Thanks in advance for your help.
regards,

Any Royal Enfield attracts good maintenance and this is regardless of any variant you choose from RE. It seems you travel rate is very high, i will also suggest you to have a spare bike for local commutes along with TB 500 if low maintenance is what your are looking for.
I think you should go with Thunderbird 350. According to me it is the only Enfield which is equally good at cruising and off-roading. By considering fuel efficiency, riding posture, comfort and suspension from your queries i, ii and iii, TB 350 is the best option. Meanwhile, Himalayan is an adventure bike and I don't think it is good for highway cruising or day to day commuting.
