Good Day, my bike is a yamaha fazer 2011 model,recently re-purchased.i

Good Day,
my bike is a yamaha fazer 2011 model,recently re-purchased.it was in an excellent condition until this started.whenever i go uphill or on an open road upshift my gear(increase the speed) the engine revs and shuts.in other words when i try to accelerate it does not respond as it should.
also when i accelerate the bike gives sudden jerks sometimes.
please provide neccessary help. awaiting your response.
