Much Awaited Yamaha superbike V-Max launched in India

The Japanese two-wheeler maker Yamaha has launched the much awaited superbike V-Max in India on Wednesday.

The superbike 'V-Max' is said to be coming with a price tag of Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom-Delhi) only. However, Yamaha also launched the limited edition FZ in 3 variants; the Yamaha FZ-16, FZ-S as well as the Yamaha Fazer, along with V-Max. Bollywood hunk John Abraham has been roped in as the brand ambassador of Yamaha.

The CEO and Managing Director of India Yamaha Motors Yuki Mine Tsuji was quoted of saying, "I am hopeful that these bikes will get the same kind of enthusiastic response as our recently-launched other products got. The company has registered a year-on-year growth of 80% during the month of January through August, and we expect the coming months to be also fruitful. "We are targeting selling 2.5 lakh units in India by this year."

According to Tsuji the company intends to take a 10% market share by 2012.



As regards the new Yamaha superbike V-Max, the bike received accolades from all over the world for the killing thrill of power generation. This beast runs on a powerful 1,679 cc engine. Now that's something so huge setting big boys from ordinary men, ain't? Even in terms of the price it sets itself off other so-called superbikes asking 20 lakhs.

The other limited edition variants are priced at FZ-16 @ Rs. 66,500, FZ-S @ Rs. 68,500 and the Fazer special edition @ Rs. 73,500, respectively. These prices are Ex-showroom, New Delhi.
