Bajaj seems to be busy buzzing with new product launches even in times of recession. This time around the company is being talked about not for its variants in the Pulsar model or Discoverer but for absolutely two different segments —the small cars and a scooter.
Yes, when Tata Nano was unveiled, it marked a revolution in the small car segment; Bajaj was quick on its feet to announce the launch of its unique small car by the year 2011. The project is much on time and is a joint venture with foreign carmaker Renault Nissan. The car is expected to be positioned strategically so as to make it almost financially nonviable for any global major company to recreate the same. We will talk about this later, but for now the scooter market should be alert as the news is that Bajaj will launch a new scooter and will position it against its Honda Activa, even if you have thought it as over optimism.
Although it would take two years or more so to make Bajaj Scooter’s presence on Indian roads, yet the company is confident to capture a greater market share than Honda through its unique technology that will be the USP of the Bajaj new scooter.
