Ducati, the iconic Italian bike brand seems to have crush on the Indian market, the bike brand is look to get its Indian presence strong.
The bike brand hopes to achieve the feat by having new dealerships in India. The bike company has announced it will open a new dealership in Bangalore. The Bangalore dealership will have the entire fleet of Ducati bikes displayed which includes Ducati Monster, Ducati Multistrada, Ducati Diavel, Ducati Hypermotard and Ducati 848. The company announced that the new Bangalore Ducati dealership will be open on May 04, 2011.
Ducati already has dealership outlets in Mumbai, Gurgaon and Ahmedabad and come May 04, 2011 in Bangalore too making the count to 4. The company plans to add 11 more outlets by 2012. The favorite bike brand looks to be in top gear and hopes to beat the likes of Harley Davidson, BMW, Hyosung, Honda, Aprilia, and Yamaha and Suzuki in the premium bikes segment.
The new Ducati Bangalore dealership outlet will be on Lavelle Road close to the city’s Harley Davidson outlet. The competition will become stiffer with the Italian bike maker planning to showcase about 16 Ducati models at the new outlet. The prices for the Ducati bikes will be from Rs. 7.95 lakhs (ex-showroom) upwards and the costliest of the Ducati in India will be the Ducati Multistrada MTS 1200T which will bear a hefty price tag of Rs.20.45 lakhs.
Besides working on the marketing strategy, Ducati also plans to get its feet wet in India by having an assembly plant here soon. The company gets a decent enquiries for sales at the moment and if marketed well the Ducati is expected to sell about 2000 bikes a year and at this pace and trend the company believes it can position itself well in India by 2016.
