New Tata Indica eV2 launched

Tata Motors has re-launched its popular flagship hatchback Indica in diesel and petrol versions at a stunning price of Rs. 2.95 lakhs (ex-showroom price Delhi).

The auto major has priced petrol and the diesel versions of the new Tata Indica between 2.95 and Rs 3.95 lakhs, respectively.

According to the company the diesel version is the best fuel efficient hatchback giving 25 kmpl mileage (ARAI tested for the CR4 diesel powered engine). The company has relaunched the Tata Indica eV2 on Friday March 11, 2011 Tata Indica eV2 which runs on the same CR4 diesel-powered engine which displaces 1396 cc producing power of 70 PS @ 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 140 NM at lowered (1800-3000) rpms. According to the company the new CR4 engine gives 32% increased power and generates over 65% increase in the torque. Besides the engine is soft on diesel so gives 46% enhanced fuel efficiency. The petrol version will run on an MPFI (multi-point fuel injection) engine. Both the diesel and the petrol engine comply with BS4 emission norms.



The new Indica eV2 will have Auto-Drive Assist feature that ensures engine doesn't stall upon going on gradient terrains despite taking foot off the clutch. There is also Clutch-To-Start feature which ensures engine crank doesn't happen unless clutch is engaged. This avoids risk of re-cranking should the engine be on.



New Indica eV2 comes in four colors - Mint White, Neo Orange, Apple Green and Arctic Silver. The new Tata Indica eV2 is priced between Rs. 3.95 lakhs and Rs. 4.77 lakhs for the CR4 diesel version and Rs. 2.95 lakhs and Rs. 3.58 lakhs for the MPFI petrol version.

New Tata Indica eV2 also comes with warranty of 24 months or 75,000 km (whichever is earlier). Tata Indica has earned reputation of being a VFM car and with a fuel efficiency of 25 kmpl the new Indica eV2 will be another good VFM addition to the segment.
