Honda CBR250 will come with a welcome price tag of 1.5 lakh

Honda Motor Company, the two-wheeler major in India and the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world is all set to launch the most sought after sports bike Honda CBR250.

The company says that the launch of the CBR250 will be in April 2011. The company also says that the performance sports bike will come with a price tag of Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), India's fourth largest bike maker, and 100% subsidiary of Honda, Japan, will have the CBR250 assembled locally at Manesar plant in Haryana. The parts of the bike will be imported from Thailand.

The Honda CBR 250 comes powered by a newly developed 250cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke DOHC engine which generates 25hp with 2.3kgm of Torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gear box.

The CBR250 will likely cost about 1.8 lakhs on road and it is still an inviting and very competitive price as compared to Kawasaki Ninja that comes with a huge price tag of Rs. 3.01 lakhs on road and sold via select Bajaj Auto outlets.

The price of the CBR250 is going to give Bajaj a run for its money and it will be a serious threat to the Kawasaki Ninja's which were sold about 1,000 units so far since the launch in October 2009.
