Bajaj acquires patent rights for ExhausTec innovation in China

SIPO, the Chinese State Intellectual Property office grants patent rights for the ExhasuTec technology invention to Bajaj. This makes Bajaj's patent strength felt in China too after the getting patent rights in Europe.

India's second largest two-wheeler major, Bajaj Auto, had gotten patent rights for their USP exhaust system and technology, ExhausTec, from SIPO China.

Year 2010 seems to be doing well for Bajaj Auto and it had got the patent rights early this year in Europe by The European Patent Office. Now, the SIPO gives the patent rights to Bajaj Auto Limited - ZL 200580025898.7; the patent is April 14, 2010 dated.

ExhausTec means for Exhaust Torque Expansion Chamber and the innovation has been used by Bajaj Auto in its bikes from 2004 (starting from Pulsar now extended to its fleet of models).

ExhausTec is nothing but a small chamber that is fitted on exhaust just beneath the engine so the back pressure generated by engine could well be altered so engine performance is enhanced at low and the mid range. The engine can take more load or simply put the bike can carry more load.

ExhausTec becomes very important and is a relevant technology in India because the bike engines used in the sub-continent are small and low powered.

No doubt, Bajaj has been rising in popularity and benefiting in market share after it started using the innovation.

Bajaj has patent rights for ExhausTec in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iran, Malaysia, Mexico and Costa Rica. Now adding to these it has patent rights in China and Europe too. Its is an amazing feat by the sub continent auto major and the company is sure to surge off well in the second half of 2010- the share value of the company already noted good increase after the announcement came out.
