heres the logic behind FI bikes…tvs apache rtr 160 fi is a fuel injection bike and it doesnt have a carburator as in apache rtr 160..thts the difference btw the 2 bikes…in fuel injection there is a pump which sucks in fuel from the tank and delivers it to the engine.
Mileage: the mileage depends on the ammount of pressure on the fuel pump. that is at high speeds the pump is under more pressure and sucks in more fuel. Also the mileage depends on the amount of fuel in the tank if there is more fuel its easier for the pump to suck the fuel from the tank thus putting lesser pressure and thus one gets a beta mileage.
personally i get a varied mileage ranging 4m as low as 25kmpl at speeds of 120+kmph to 40-45kmpl at normal ctiy limits at about 50-60kmph…
this is one of the best bikes in its class. and the Fi technology is far advanced and hardly any1 has a idea about it.
it has the best sound of its class of bikes because the sound of the bike mixes vit the pump sound and thus u get the true adrenaline rush
…i love this bike..have been using it 4m 2 and half yrs…i have ridden many others bikes including all the 150cc variants present in india as to date.
many face a problem with the road grip in wet roads…
personally i feel it takes balls to ride an Fi apache..:)
…i havent changed the tyres of my bike yet cause i neva felt it has any probs…i feel it has the best road grip only after the fz (which has much bigger tyres 140/80 compared to tvs 100/80)…in any case i hae ridden another apache with the tyres changed to bigger ones…that’l cease all worries..just buy an apache and put bigger tyres …max change in mileage dude to bigger tyres is around 2kmpl.
to anyone who wants to buy a bike..i wud say 2 things
1) ride safe
2) ride apache..:)
@rajdeep…victory is defined by the racer and not the bike…but if the other guy is equally gud …i doubt this can beat a r15 as r15 has a top speed of around 137kmph and this around 130-134kmph…as my advice wud be u can change the filtersand get ur bike jetted b4 u try to beat an r15…if the other rider is gud..
v had a similar race in the NICE CORRIDOR bangalore…the drag race was btw my apache rtr 160 fi, pulsar 200, pular 135, twister, r15, fz….and i won the race..:):):)…followed very soon by r15 then within few secs by pulsar 200…and after tht well v had to wait long…v went and had a coffee by the time fz followed by twister and finally poor pulsar 135 finished the race..:P
