The American icon bike maker Harley Davidson has announced opening of the headquarters in India -Gurgaon.
Harley Davidson India believes it can market and survive well in the country's competitive bike market. According to Mr. Anoop Prakash, Managing Director H-D India, "the establishment of Harley Davidson India's permanent headquarters (at Gurgaon) marks an important milestone for the company."
With the opening of corporate headquarters, it should be noted that the bookings for the HD bikes are now open. Mr. Anoop reiterates that the delivery of the bikes will commence from June 2010, and believes it will initiate new era of motor biking here. The HD India has launched about 12 bikes at the Auto Expo early this year and the bookings for the same have started from April. It should be noted that the price range of these bikes will be between Rs. 6.95L and 34.95L (ex-showroom New Delhi). The company will start delivery of the motorcycles from June.
Harley-Davidson plans to set up dealerships in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.
