Vibgyor Bikes

Vibgyor Vehicles, the West Bengal based two-wheeler maker forayed into the bike segment with unveiling of two new bikes at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2010 at New Delhi.

Vibgyor Vehicles stall indeed stunned the bike enthusiasts with their launches; one in the 125cc segment and one in the 150cc segment; Hunter 125cc and Shark 150cc bikes. The two vehicles were unveiled by none other than Kolkata's numero uno celebrity Saurav Ganguly. Hunter 125cc is priced at Rs. 41,990 and the Vibgyor Shark 150cc is priced at Rs. 49,000 (the prices are ex-showroom Kolkata), respectively.

Both of these bikes are 4-stroke ones which run on single-cylinder engines and having 5-speed drive transmission. The Hunter 125cc produces a 7.2 Nm of power at 9,000 rpm. It also sports a digital speedometer and gear indicators, at par with the latest trends. The Hunter 125cc exudes a class of its own in the 2 colors it is currently available; red and black.



Shark 150cc appears to have gotten more attention in the design aspect and it sports Apache-like (I hope I am not sounding mean) aerodynamic design and appeals younger bike riders. The 150cc bike exudes high-spirited character, and it runs on a 142.6cc engine and generates a power of 13.05PS at maximum rpm of 9500, and delivers 9.6 Nm torque at 7,500 rpm should pound the hearts of speed-crazy Indian youth.

The aluminum silencer and stainless steel fasteners give the bike an enhanced youthful look, besides actually grabbing second glance from the onlookers. The dual-toned Shark is it's another catchy feature. It comes in red and black and yellow and black color options. And, for a price under 50,000 this should beat rest of the bikes in the class. Vibgyor Allied Industries' R&D team takes the credit of developing the Shark bike. Both Hunter and Shark bikes come with the option of disc brakes in the front and an electronic self starter.

Vibgyor Vehicles intends to launch a 100cc Persona utility scooter as well as a 200 cc bike during the second quarter of the current financial year.
