Honda SFA 150; The New Age Naked Street Fighter

Motorcycle exhibitions and shows are often venues for showcasing concept models from different motorcycle companies around the world. Usually, concept models are futuristic, advanced and powered by high capacity engines. In such a scenario one of the most talked and discussed model of Honda, the SF 150 stands apart.



The Honda SFA 150 is an unlikely concept motorcycle featuring light engine and production based designs and styles. The bike was initially displayed at the 2015 Osaka motorcycle show in Japan. Honda plans to start the production of this model with the likes of markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia and India. The 150cc naked street fighter bikes would be a great asset for the Honda Two Wheelers in this sector.



The SFA 150 is powered by 149.5cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine, expected to deliver a power of 16.9 bhp @ 10500 rpm and torque of 13 Nm @ 7500 rpm. This liquid-cooled engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox for optimum power transmission. It also uses a multi-plate wet clutch, which is common in many production models of Honda. Stopping power of the bike is safe in the hands of disc and drum brakes at front and back respectively. Telescopic shock absorber at the front and mono shock suspension at the rear does the suspension duties for SFA.

Cosmetic outfits of the bike is more appreciable than mechanical figures. The bike gets a stylish body designing and innovative graphics. It have plenty of attention grabbing components within the appearance itself. The headlight of SFA is said to be the coolest and most stylish one you could have ever seen on such a light engined motorcycle. Lateral twin pod headlamp can be called as a cost-effective unit with minimal outfits. The bike sits on a Trellis frame and the exhaust is placed beneath the seats and it is partially visible. The instrument cluster is fully digital with information like speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, odometer, coolant temperature, clock, fuel gauge, service reminder, low oil indicator and low battery indicator as well.



Honda is yet to make an official statement regarding the production of this model and once it is launched, it may hit the Indian market with the likes of naked street fighter bikes here in the country. If Honda plans to bring this model without much cosmetic changes from the displayed concept model, it will be a great piece of engineering and motorcycling experience for the customers.
