Triumph Introduces Revised Speed Triple Models For 2016

Designed to be true to the Speed Triple DNA. Delivering the perfect balance of performance, handling, capability and character.

Triumph Motorcycles is the British premium, lifestyle brand, which produces a wide range of distinctive, cool, and authentic Modern Classic, Adventure, Sport, Cruiser and Touring motorcycles. Also the oldest continually produced motorcycle brand, the first Triumph was manufactured in 1902. Their upcoming, revised line of motorcycles will be the Speed Triple models.

Triumph has taken the wraps off another new two models for 2016 in the Speed Triple and Speed Triple R. Hot on the heels of the news the world will be receiving new Bonnevilles and Thruxtons next year, Triumph has not forgotten its mainstay in the big bore naked bike sector and will be lashing the Speed Triple with plenty of new goodies for next year. The NEW Triumph Speed Triple S and Speed Triple R take the legacy of the first factory street fighter to a completely new level in terms of performance, agility, power, handling and capability.

The Speed Triple’s raucous inline three-cylinder engine has been thoroughly overhauled for next year and gets a new combustion chamber, new cylinder head, new machined crank, new piston design and new ride-by-wire throttle bodies and a slip-assist clutch. There’s also a new radiator, claimed to increase flow rate by a whopping 70 percent. All up, Triumph is claiming their new engine has received 104 updates over the current model. They are also claiming a 10 percent reduction in fuel economy; although no power of torque numbers have yet been released.

Unsurprisingly, Triumph has graced the Speed Triple with its full house of electronic rider aids, bringing it into line with bikes like the Aprilia Tuono and Ducati Monster 1200 R. The ride-by-wire throttle is matched to an ECU that provides five different riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport, Track and a new Rider Configurable mode, which allows the rider to custom set the electronic map they want. There’s also a Brembo Monobloc caliper with ABS and traction control maps linked to the various riding modes.

Triumph Speed Triple

Key to the new Speed Triple S and R is the aggressive, athletic styling and a narrow, focused design. A low, lithe stance is accentuated by sleek new bodywork and a completely new, Daytona 675R-inspired, tailpiece. All of which has been achieved without losing any of the naked minimalist beauty that is synonymous with the Speed Triple. The new Triumph Speed Triple S and Speed Triple R redefine the Speed Triple legend, delivering the perfect balance of power, handling, capability and character in two new performance roadsters designed for maximum fun and maximum thrills with maximum attitude. As mentioned above, there isn’t much revelation made, so prices and variants haven’t been disclosed. 2016 is a month away and details should be provided a week ahead of the motorcycles launch.
