Here ends all rumours and leaks that the Italian superbike manufacturer, Ducati, has disclosed the pics of the upcoming motorcycle, the 1199 Superleggera. The 1199 Superleggera will be placed ahead the Superbike 1199 Panigale R, which is currently the chief machine in the Ducati garage.
Unfortunately, there is a strange fact that the 1199 Superleggera will be in only 500 units, which means the bike is very limited and special edition.
The 1199 Superleggera comes with a 1,198cc v-twin engine, which uses titanium for the con-rods, inlet valves, and exhaust valves. The engine is expected to generate a max power of over 200 hp. The bike weighs only 155 kg in dry and has a curb weight of 177 kg with the gas tank full of 90% petrol. The firm has used lightest components to craft out such a light bi-wheeler on track that can be a lighten-faster.
The bike is comprised of a magnesium monocoque frame, forged Marchesini magnesium wheels, a carbon fiber rear sub-frame, body with integrated R-spec aero-kit, a lithium-ion battery, a full titanium exhaust system with stainless steel headers, and many titanium bolts and fasteners on both engine and chassis.
To step down the mass further, the engineers have equipped the lightweight Öhlins FL916 forks for front suspension duties mated with CNC’d aluminum fork bottoms and an Öhlins TTX36 rear shock. While, braking is done by Brembo M50 monobloc calipers. The 1199 Superleggera, the Super Light, is expected to break 200 mph easily.
However, there is no talk about the price tag of the 1199 Superleggera.
