Confirmed: Erik Buell Racing 1190RX Launching on October 16, 2013

Will be powered by the same engine of EBR 1190RS. The bike will be cheaper, but will skip many fetaures of its sibling.

The much awaited motorcycle of ultra premium superbike manufacturer, Erik Buell Racing (EBR), is all set to launch its only second production bike, the 1190RX on 16th October, 2013, at the AIMExpo (American International Motorcycle Expo), which takes place in Orlando, Florida.

As expected the 1190RX is a chopped-down version of its only brother, the 1190RS. In order to meet an affordable price tag, EBR has filtered out few features seen in the 1190RS. That's the 1190RX won't be running with expensive aluminium wheels, and the carbon fiber fairings.

As far as the 1190RS is concerned, it's a motorcycle specially crafted for racing championships. So, it has got several ingredients to cut down the mass of the machine to be well-designed stuff for racing tracks. However, it's pretty expensive and costs almost quadruple of a normal litre class superbike. Still, the upcoming 1190RX is a cool challenger for its rivals.

Presently, no alterations are seen with the engine. The 1190RX will be powered by the same heart, 1190cc, liquid cooled V-twin Rotax unit, seen in the 1190RS. The engine is capable to deliver a max power of 175 HP at 9750 rpm and a max torque of 97 ft-lb peak torque at 9400 rpm. It's coupled with a 6 speed transmission. More details on the bike will be unveiled later as no further statistics are available for time being. So stay tuned with us for more stories about the 1190RX.
