BMW Launches F800GS Adventure

BMW Motorrad has launched the much awaited motorcycle in its segment, the F800GS Adventure. Still, the price of the machine is yet to be disclosed. The F800GS Adventure is a perfect weapon by BMW to destroy the kingship enjoyed by the Triumph Tiger 800 XC. The launch of F800GS Adventure is expected to make new changes in mid-sized motorcycle segment.



Compared with the normal F800GS, the Adventure version is wedded with tons of updates and interesting features. BMW has moulded out the F800GS Adventure in order to be a crossover of both the mid-sized and the high-end enduro motorcycling. That is, even if the bike is only mated with a lesser sized engine, the bike holds almost all the features that an ultra enduro is equipped with.



The F800GS is coupled with the same 798cc, Water-cooled 4-stroke in-line two-cylinder, four valves per cylinder, two overhead camshafts, dry sump lubrication engine, that is used in the F800GS. The bike produces max power of 85 hp @ 7500 rpm and max torque of 82.7 Nm @ 5750 rpm. It is mated with a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox integrated into crankcase. The top speed of the bike is 193 kmph. Having electronic fuel injection, BMW ensures a mileage figure of 23 kmpl in 90 kmph.



The Adventure looks extremely sportier that the standard version. It has got a body alteration in order to bring in a masculine and robust appearance. Now we can travel more and more, because the Adventure is well packed with a massive 24 liters fuel tank rather than the previous 16 liters. ABS is standard, where enduro mode and ASC is optional. Along with this, Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) is also wedded with it as a factory-fitted optional package. Moreover, reinforced rear subframe, better comfortable bench seat, large windscreen, wide enduro footrests, adjustable, reinforced foot brake lever and engine protection bar are part of the machine.



The bike seems to be taller by 10 mm and now has a seat height of 890 mm. Along with additional features, the bike also got increased its weight by 229 kg from 214 kg.



The first 1000 Adventure models will be marketed as the F800GS Adventure "Launch Edition." They will be showcased in a special Sandrover matt shade and will be available in three packages: Comfort package, Enduro package, and Special Accessories package . Comfort package features onboard computer, heated grips and a center stand. Enduro package is comprised of ASC plus Enduro mode, while Special Accessories package includes a lockable aluminium case set, a topcase holder and the new BMW Motorrad Navigator Adventure.
