The German premium motorcycle manufacturer, BMW Motorrad is all set to unveil its updated machines in the forthcoming Carole Nash MCN London motorcycle show. The event will take place between February 15 and 17, at Excel in London's Doscklands. Being an international motorcycle show, almost all motorcycle builders are expected to showcase their bikes and BMW finds time to do its presentation. And the new BMW R 1200 GS tops the attention tabulation for BMW.
Since the production of BMW Motorrad GS series in 1980, the consortium has been consistently serving the motorcycle world with the best dual sport machine available yet. Having a traditional reputation of long 32 years, the GS outmatches its opponents. As BMW is all marked disclose the latest version of the icon, the machine gets more perfected and dazing.
It was definitely not an easy task for the BMW engineers to redefine the R 1200 GS, that was outstanding to start with. However, tracking through stressful hard work, the engineers of BMW met the target to scribe on a new story in the name of the all new 2013 BMW R 1200 GS.
The newly revised machine looks more robust, dynamic, and full of character. The bike truly defines to be an extra ordinary bi-wheeler on both off and on road. The living legend's 2013 edition comes with a 1,170 cc, Air/liquid-cooled four stroke flat twin, double overhead camshaft, one balance shaft engine. The monster pumps up a gorgeous power of 92 kW (125 bhp) at 7,750 rpm and a stunning torque of 125 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Mated with a Constant mesh 6-speed gearbox with helical gear teeth, the machine stays true to be in the Enduro class.
The specialities of the newly upgraded beast never ends anywhere. Its lately added water-cooled boxer engine improves aerodynamics and makes the machine more lighter. Now the engine works more efficiently, reliably, and with high torques all the time, for its is based on a new concept of combined air and liquid cooling and vertical flows through the cylinders. Moreover, the new wet clutch with anti-hopping feature and the electromotive throttle actuator E-Gas turns the opposed twin engine the perfect drive solution.
In UK, BMW Motorrad will be launching special Editions of both 'Touring' and 'Enduro' of the R 1200 GS bike with all features as standard. That is, the R 1200 GS 'Touring Edition' and the R 1200 GS 'Enduro Edition'. Along with this, BMW will also be showcasing its new products - S1000RR HP4, F800GT, F700GS and F800GS at the Carole Nash MCN London motorcycle show.
