A Complete Reconstruction; A New Path for HeroMotoCorp

India's largest motorcycle manufacturing conglomerate, Hero Motocorp officially announced its 3rd partner, Engines Engineering. The Italian consortium, Engines Engineering will be assisting Hero for its upcoming two wheelers' design and model portfolio. This is company's third alliance after parting with Japanese auto giant Honda. US-based EBR and Austria's AVL are the other 2 companies with which Hero has already signed contracts.

Italian consortia and designers are always known for their designs in the automobile industry. "I see this as a long-term partnership and there is immense scope to expand this alliance as we go along. This is also in keeping with my vision of having multiple centers of excellence located strategically across the globe" while addressing the press, said Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Hero MotoCorp Pawan Munjal.

Meanwhile Hero Motocorp officials stated, "the company will be striking out the brand name 'Honda' from its 'Hero Honda' tags within this month, which still exists in its 15 models." Although the contract between Hero and Honda allows Hero to use 'Hero Honda' tag until 2014, Hero neglects to work it on further. The reason why they strike out 'Honda' from its units as soon as possible is the massive response over its 3 models, Maestro, Ignitor and Impulse, and Hero wishes to endure it by dropping 'Honda' tag.

"The acceptance of our new identity and the market response that we have received on our three new Hero branded models--Impulse, Maestro and Ignitor--make us confident to go ahead. Our entire range of products would have moved to the Hero brand within this month," stated Hero MotoCorp Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Sales, Anil Dua.
