Honda calling back CBR 250R in India

Honda's CBR 250R is getting awesome response from the Indian customers eventhough they are made to wait for months to get the bike after booking. CBR 250R is currently having no other big opponent in its segment except Kawasaki Ninja which is priced twice as that of CBR in India.

The services provided after the sale from the Honda people are not at all impressive. Sometimes, occasion arises where the basic spares are not available. Recently, HMSI is giving a call to its CBR 250R customers and informing to take their bikes for a general check up.

This recall is not so serious, but, the company had used many small components available in the local Indian market for its making so as to give a competitive pricing for the product. This recalling has not been officially announced and their doing this silently.

No major changes have been made during this recall. The problem that was rectified was rusting of nuts and bolts along the mirror housing, a few bolts on the grabrail fitting and some more along the side fairing. These nuts and bolts were replaced with new ones as part of the recall. Nothing has been done on the engine front.

One of the major reason why this recall has been done in a secret manner is that, Honda is planning to launch some more bikes in the 200 cc+ category. Honda should be more careful in dealing with such recalls. Its Lucky for Honda that they identified and rectified these problems much before the issues becomes pre-dominant.
