Scooters India plans to launch new models in 2012

Scooters India, Public sector auto maker is currently exploring options to launch new products in the two wheeler market. With increased production and sales the company is all set to make themselves active in all varieties of two wheeler segments.

The company, for almost a decade is having the results of loss and they are now planning to launch some new models. The company is also looking for a new buyer. The company has not revealed whether their new products will be two wheelers or three wheelers.



In the 70s, the company started commercial production of scooters under the brand name of 'Vijai Super' for the domestic market and the famous 'Lambretta' for overseas market which was incorporated in the year 1972. The had good response both in Indian and overseas market.

The company then ventured into three-wheelers with the name "Vikram" and in 1997, the company stopped two-wheeler production and since then it was into only manufacturing and marketing three-wheelers only.
