4.48 percent decline reported by TVS in the March sales

TVS company is facing realy tough time in the industry nowadays. The Chennai-based company has reported a 4.48 per cent fall in March sales, reflecting the miserable condition of the company in the market.

The company succeeded in selling only 1,82,527 units from 1,91,081 units in the same month of 2011. For the entire 2011-12 fiscal, the company's total sales jumped 7.41 per cent to 21,98,142 units from 20,46,541 units in the previous fiscal.



In the earlier months, the company had lost its third place in the Indian market to the Japanese biggie, Honda. Earlier, the TVS company was behind only to Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Auto in the two-wheeler segment.

According to reports, during March, two-wheeler sales witnessed a 3.48 per cent decline at 1,80,274 units (1,86,781 units). Motorcycle sales went down by 17.14 per cent to 65,994 units (79,642 units).

Company's total exports during the month dipped 22.69 per cent to 20,690 units from 26,762 units. Total three-wheeler sales also decreased 47.60 per cent to 2,253 units from 4,300 units.
