Yamaha planning to build a Third Plant in Tamil Nadu

The global biggie, Yamaha's Indian subsidiary India Yamaha motors is planning to build a third plant in Tamil Nadu, to meet its increase in demand. Yamaha is planning to enter into lot more two wheeler segments this year, and for that they need more production plants.

The company has shortlisted Tamil Nadu out of three states, including Karnataka and Maharashtra. Yamaha has announced that it is looking for land in Tamilnadu and Karnataka for its proposed third plant.



A sum of Rs. 800 crores is been invested by the company to build new plants and to make themselves capable to meet the rise in demand. Yamaha is entering into the scooter segment this year and they are also looking to launch premium model bikes.

O Panneerselvam, the state Finance Minister of Tamilnadu said major investment proposals from firms, including Yamaha, Eicher, Enfield, Philips Carbon, Sundaram Clayton, TI Group, Saint Gobain and Nokia, are in the pipeline while presenting Budget.
