All new Discover to reach Indian market by May 2012

Along with Pulsar series, Discover was also another product name from Bajaj Auto, which got great response from the customers. As the time went on they slowly stopped the production of this product. The bike is all set for a comeback now.

Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, Rajiv Bajaj, made a statement to the media earlier that after Pulsar 200N's launch in April, they will launch a new commuter bike in the month of May 2012. It has to be a Bajaj Discover 150, because Bajaj is focused on two brands right now, one is Pulsar 200N and another is Bajaj Discover 150.

There are other variants in line as well like the Boxer and Platina. But Boxer has already been launched in its 150cc variant whereas, the BM100 is already on sale in the export market segment. As for Platina, it is an entry level motorbike and an already established brand in itself.

The Discover has got a high-end variant has a 144.8cc, naturally air cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder, DTS-i engine with a five-speed gear box. The engine gives an output of 12.8 bhp at 7500 rpm, and a maximum torque of 12.75 Nm at 5500 rpm.
