Tapukara plant marks the start of second phase of HMSI's production

Honda, after the historic split up with the Indian biggie Hero MotoCorp is all set to make its presence felt more remarkably in the Indian two wheeler industry. They are increasing its production capacity to 2.8 million units annually with the start of the second phase of operations at Tapukara facility in Rajasthan.

"To meet the growing demand of customers, the second phase with 0.6 million units capacity has started today, taking the total capacity to 1.2 million units. With this, we shall be able to our customers of Activa and CB Shine in a more speedy manner." said HMSI Vice President (Sales and Marketing) N K Rattan.



"HMSI has invested more than Rs 1,000 crore at the second plant and doubled the annual production capacity of this plant. The second assembly line inaugurated today is to manufacture both scooter and motorcycle models." he added.

He also said that "This capacity expansion plan will increase HMSI's total annual production capacity to 4 million units, including 1.6 million units at the first plant, 1.2 million units at the second plant and 1.2 million units at the third plant, preparing HMSI for further and rapid growth of the market."
