BMW, the groundbreaker in anti-lock braking system, has announced to set ABS as standard equipment in its complete line of 2012 bikes. The K 1600 GTL and K 1600 GT are the first two models selected to receive the ABS treatment.
The company sited inappropriate braking as the basic reason behind road accidents. According to the BMW, about 37% of deadly crashes can be reduced by using anti-lock braking system. The company's concern for safety is underscored by the fact that it has supplied over 80,000 bikes to policemen in more than 150 nations.
