Uber goes Uber!

Uber partners with Harley Davison to offer free test rides in Kolkata

Uber, the commercial startup venture that began in the United States in 2009, recently made it to India, and the company has been making it big, thanks to its unique business model that allows itself to operate without weaving itself into legal cobwebs. As of May 2015, Uber operates in 58 countries, in almost 300 cities around the world. Now, in a rather surprising turn of events, Uber in India has joined with Bengal Harley Davidson – the retailer of the iconic motorcycles in West Bengal, to offer free test rides in Kolkata.

The Uber smartphone app allows its customers to pick a ride based on the user's location and the ride would arrive at their doorstep within a matter of minutes. Uber has also brought in the pay by cash feature in some cities, besides offering the PayTM/Credit card features. The Harley test ride features the same procedure, the bike would arrive at the doorstep of the customer after using the Uber App and further opting the “HARLEY” option in the app – the bike would be made available for test ride at the location of choice (Time: Saturday 8th August, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM).

However, the test ride would be limited to a maximum of 15 minutes, and only a single test ride per user. Since the motorcycles up for test rides are limited, a large number of requests are to be expected and Uber insist on requesting several times to be allocated. After signing a few forms and making sure that all the right gear has been worn, everything's good to go!
