Marginal dip reported in TVS motors December sales

Reports say that, TVS motors have reported a marginal decrease in the sales of its products in the month of December, this year compared to the sales of the company in December 2010. The company managed to record 170,428 units against 171,790 units in December 2010.

On the other hand the cumulative sales (April to December 2011) has witnessed an increase in 10% 1,670,040 units from the previous comparable period. TVS is coming up with new products to face 2012 and to keep themselves alive.



TVS Motors witnessed a fall in domestic sales. Domestic two-wheeler sales was reported at 146,747 units (1,49,357). One of the primary reasons being the auto market was faced with hikes in interest rates, fuel prices, and growing inflation. The total two wheeler sales also witnessed a fall from 168,359 in December 2010 to 167,905 units in December 2011.

Exports on the other hand have received a better response. The company managed to report an increase in exports. Exports witnessed an increase of 6% in sales at 22,481 units in December 2011. The two-wheeler exports played a vital role recording an increase of 11%. Moving on to the three-wheeler department the company reports they have sold 2,523 three-wheelers in December 2011 against 3,431 units in December 2010.
