Indian Motorcycles Explores the 2014 Chief Line-up

The machines are the 2014 Indian Chief Classic, 2014 Indian Chief Vintage, and the 2014 Indian Chieftain.

America's oldest motorcycle name, Indian Motorcycle unveiled its 2014 Chief models, at Sturgis, South Dakota, in the USA. The unveil was hugely successful on behalf of thousands of Indian Motorcycle's fans who appeared to witness the auspicious moment.



The 2014 Indian Chief Classic, 2014 Indian Chief Vintage, and the 2014 Indian Chieftain are the three models introduced. The 2014 Indian Chief Classic starts at $18,999 (approximately Rs.11.5 lakh), while the 2014 Indian Chief Vintage has an initial tag of $20,999 (approximately Rs.12.78 lakh), and the 2014 Indian Chieftain is available for $22,999 (approximately Rs.14 lakh).

2014 Indian Chief Classic
The Classic variant is the cheapest among the Chief brand. It is powered by a 1819cc, Thunder Stroke 111 engine. It generates a maximum torque of 161.6 Nm at 3000 Rpm. It has Closed loop fuel injection system to better fuel efficiency.

The cruiser is equipped with a Telescopic Fork/4.7 in (119 mm) front suspension and a Single Shock w/Air adjust / 4.49 in rear suspension. A Dual / Floating Rotor / 4 Piston Caliper front brake powers the front side, while the rear portion is controlled by a Single / Floating Rotor / 2 Piston Caliper.

The bike is available in two variants: Standard and Electric.

The Standard model will be featuring ABS; Cast Aluminum Frame with Integrated Air-Box; Cruise Control; Driving Lights; Highway Bar; Keyless Start; Power Windshield; Premium Leather Seats; Remote Locking Hard Saddle Bags; Tire Pressure Monitoring; 100 Watt Stereo with AM/FM Bluetooth and Smartphone Compatible Input.

While, the Electric version will be having further features such as Fairing mounted instrument cluster featuring electronic speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge with odometer, dual tripmeters with distance and time, instantaneous and average fuel economy; fuel range; real-time clock; ambient air temperature; gear position display; front and rear tire pressure; engine hours of operation; engine oil life percentage; average speed; battery voltage; radio information display; vehicle trouble code readout; heated grip level (if heated grips installed); and 15 LED telltale indicators: cruise control enabled, cruise control set, neutral, high beam, turn signal, ABS, check engine, low tire pressure, battery, low fuel, security system, low engine oil pressure and MPH or km/h unit designation.

Thunder Black, Indian Motorcycle Red, and Springfield Blue are the available colors.

2014 Indian Chief Vintage
It comes with the same engine that is used in the Chief Classic. So is the technical specifications. It is its iconic Indian styling that is crafted in a whole new level makes the Chief Vintage a special specimen. It's more than a cruiser. It has got leather bags packed which can make us prepared for long rides. 3D 'Indian' branding on the fuel tank is the another highlight of the machine.

It is also comes in two variants: Standard and Electric.

The Standard model is equipped with special features such as Indian Script Tank Badge, Light Bar, Quick Release Lexan Windshield, Quick Release Vintage Leather Saddle Bags, and Vintage Fender Badge.

While, the Electric version carries unique features such as Tank mounted electronic speedometer with odometer; dual tripmeters; digital tachometer; ambient air temperature; fuel range; average fuel economy; battery voltage; gear position display; real-time clock; vehicle trouble code readout; heated grip level (if heated grips installed); low engine oil pressure; and 9 LED telltale indicators: cruise control enabled, cruise control set, neutral, high beam, turn signal, ABS, check engine, and MPH or km/h unit designation; and Tank mounted electronic fuel gauge with low fuel LED indicator.

The 2014 Chief Vintage is available in Thunder Black, Indian Motorcycle Red, and Springfield Blue colors.

The Chieftain is the most expensive in this line-up. It is wedded with a good no. of interesting features. You can call it an absolute wanderer which is fully packed and ready to wander to anywhere. It is powered by the same engine that is used in both Vintage and Classic models.

The Chieftain also comes in two variants: Standard and Electric.
