Polaris India Contributes Five ATVs to Uttarakhand Government

It's to assist the help in order to help the affected by floods.

The world's biggest name for All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) and off-roading Polaris Industries Inc.'s wholly Indian subsidiary firm, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd., donated 5 vehicles to Uttarakhand Government. The donation was intended to help the government and its concerned department who are rescuing the people who were affected by the floods that recently happened in the state.



"We are moved by the magnitude of the recent tragedy in Uttarakhand. With the entire network of roads in and around the states destroyed and non-existent now, apart from debris on the ground from thousands of destroyed homes, we feel that Polaris India can extend a hand of support to help expedite the relief operations. These specialized Off Road Vehicles will help in making these areas accessible," said Mr Pankaj Dubey, MD, Polaris India.

A Big Boss 6X6 800, a Sportsman 550 EPS, a RZR S 800 EFI and two Ranger 900 Diesel variant are the five vehicles handed over to Honorable Chief Minister of Uttrakhand Mr. Vijay Bahubuna by Mr.Pankaj Dubey (M.D and Country Head of Polaris India).

"Polaris has long supported charitable efforts, and we hope the donation of these vehicles will assist the relief efforts as they provide the affected communities with the relief they desperately need. We also offer to help train the rescue and relief teams about the usage of these vehicles and educate them about their capabilities," added Mr Dubey.

The Big Boss 6X6 800 comes with a 706cc, 4-Stroke Twin Cylinder, liquid cool engine. It is mated with an Electronic Fuel Injection system. It has Automatic PVT P/R/N/L/H; Shaft transmission. It's equipped with a MacPherson Strut With 8.2" (20.8 cm) Travel front suspension and a Dual A-Arm, IRS 6.12" (15.5 cm) Travel rear suspension. It is coupled with a Single Lever Hydraulic front Disc Brake and a Single Lever Hydraulic Rear Brake.

Meanwhile, the Sportsman 550 EPS is powered by a 549cc, 4-Stroke SOHC Single Cylinder, liquid cooled engine, the RZR S 800 EFI is powered by a 706cc, 4-Stroke Twin Cylinder liquid cooled engine, and the Ranger 900 Diesel has a 904cc, 3-Cylinder Diesel liquid cooled engine, that can deliver up to 24 Hp.
