Zero S wins the European e-Motorbike of the Year 2013

It's a hart-trick for the Zero S.

The US electric motorcycle manufacturer's Zero S has been named as "European e-Motorbike of the Year 2013" at Europe,s Clean Week 2020 elections. This is the third consecutive year that the Zero S is bagging the award. The event was programmed at the Zolder circuit in Belgium. Meanwhile, the second spot was taken away by Zero Motorcycle's itself the 2013 Zero DS. The Clean Week 2020 is an annual event which is aimed to promote electric-fuelled motorcycles and to discuss about environment friendly bi-wheeler to save future.



"We,re honored the Zero S has defended its title again for the third year. With up to 137 miles range in the city, a top speed of 95 mph and a CHAdeMO accessory that allows recharging in around an hour, the 2013 model line is truly exceptional. This award names the Zero S as best in class, an opinion shared by the panel of 12 experts European journalists who extensively tested all the vehicles presented at Clean Week 2020," said Mr. Edwin Belonje, Managing Director at Zero Motorcycles Europe.

2013 Zero S

The ZERO S ZF11 comes with a Z-Force™ 75-7 passively air-cooled, high efficiency, radial flux permanent magnet, brushless motor. The motor produces maximum power of 54 hp @ 4,300 RPM and maximum torque of 92 Nm. The Zero S has a clutchless direct drive transmission. Doesn't matter for it is an electric bike, the machine can reach a top speed of 153 kmph. Provided with a 38mm inverted, aluminum slider forks with adjustable compression and rebound damping front suspension and a Piggy-back reservoir shock with adjustable spring preload, compression and rebound damping rear suspension, there is no compromise for comfortable ride. Further, it is wedded with a Nissin 2 piston hydraulic, 313x4 mm floating disc and a Nissin 1 piston hydraulic, 221x4.5 mm disc brake at front and rear respectively.

While the Zero DS is mated with a Z-Force™ 75-7 passively air-cooled, high efficiency, radial flux permanent magnet, brushless motor. It generates stunning power of 54 hp @ 4,300 RPM and gorgeous torque of 92 Nm. It is also of clutchless direct drive transmission. A 38mm inverted, forks with adjustable compression and rebound damping front suspension and a Piggy-back reservoir shock with adjustable spring preload, compression and rebound damping rear suspension ensure a comfortable ride. While, Nissin 2 piston hydraulic, 313x4 mm floating disc at front and Nissin 1 piston hydraulic, 221x4.5 mm disc at rear enriches the braking ability of the bike.
