As noticed earlier, the world's largest two wheeler manufacturer by production units, Hero Motocorp arrived in the Latin American and the African continent. The sale is expected to commence by June, 2013.
Hero has already shipped the first consignments to Latin American countries- Peru, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras in Central America and African countries- Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast. At first the company will be rolling out motorcycles in 100cc and 125cc classes. The firm hasn't revealed anything regarding the launch of scooter machines in these continents. It might hopefully be in the queue.
Launching entry level bi-wheelers at the initial stage of company's operation in foreign trade, it is very clear that Hero is targeting commuter riders who want affordable machines at higher fuel efficiency. Moreover, foreign markets indeed miss commuter motorcycles. Realizing the fact Hero is playing to become the key player of entry level motorcycle in the world.
The current aim of Hero is to launch motorcycles in 30 countries outside India. At first the company will commence operation in 10 countries. Then the firm will gradually spread its route to other 20 nations. With the foreign trade, Hero targets to sell 1 million products by 2016-17. Once Hero reaches 1 million milestone products outside India, the company will be founding production houses in Kenya, Brazil, Nigeria, and Columbia.
Hero was recently challenged by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Private Limited (HMSI) when launching Honda's all new motorcycle, the CB Trigger. Meanwhile, HMSI's parent company's Operating Officer Mr. Shinji Aoyama said that HMSI would become no. 1 two-wheeler company in by 2015-16.
The figures show out that Honda has been growing rapidly month by month. Notwithstanding, Hero is also displaying mass sales numbers every month. It is a big fact and great encouragement for Hero Motorcorp that the company is still growing even after its erstwhile partner, Honda parted away in 2011.
Hopefully, the new projects will keep Hero at top position among the world class motorcycle brands.
Mr. Pawan Munjal, Managing Director of Hero Motocorp said, "it is heartening to see that our sales have been in excess of half a million two-wheelers in every month of the quarter, thus further strengthening our leadership. We are well in line to meet our guidance for over six million unit sales in the fiscal 2012."
Sales to be started by June.
