2014 Honda CTX700N and CTX700 Unveiled

Honda crafts a new era by introducing the 'CTX' series.

Honda Motor Company, the leading giant in the bi-wheeler battlefield announced its much anticipated CTX700N and CTX700. The reveal took place at the International Motorcycle Show in Chicago. It is very first Honda machine to embody the CTX tag. The CTX stands for 'Comfort Technology Experience' concept.



The new CTX series machines come with a newly developed 670cc, liquid-cooled in-line 2-cylinder engine. Its engine is mated with a 6 speed gearbox. Having blended with PGM-FI with 36mm throttle body induction and Digital transistorized with electronic advance ignition the CTX goes on authentically. Honda always ensures comfy to the next level. Mated with 41mm fork, 4.2 inches travel front suspension and Pro-Link single shock, 4.3 inches travel rear suspension, the bike assures one of the finest drives even at the toughest terrains.

One of the major drawbacks of the new series is the bikes don't hold dual disc brakes at front. Usually, premium cruisers are wedded with double disc brakes at front. Honda might be purposefully avoided it to meet the price limit of the machine. However, it doesn't compromise to the safety and confidence of the rider. Meantime, the rear brake is of a single 240mm disc with single-piston caliper.

Being a crossover of a sportbike and a cruiser, the machine pulls down its rivals. The only difference between the NTX700 and the NTX700N are its body kit.

Above all, the bikes have ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) technology and DCT (dual-clutch transmission). With the help of DCT, the rider can easily shift gears with a push on handlebar-mounted button. With that the automatic mode is also provided by which the gears are automatically changed.

The base model of Honda CTX700 is priced at $7,799 (approximately Rs.4,19,000), while the CTX700N starts at $6,999 (approximately Rs.3,76,250). The CTX700 is available in Cool Candy Red and Pearl White colors, whereas the CTX700N comes in Candy Red and Black shades. Both motorcycles will launch in the American market soon this spring of 2013.
