Ducati Unveils 2013 MotoGP Team at Wrooom

The Italian racer Andrea Dovizioso joined the racing team vacated by Valentino Rossi.

The Italian premium motorcycle motorcycle brand, Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A., which is now owned by the German luxury car manufacturer Audi, officially unveiled their line up for the 2013 MotoGP Season at the Wrooom. Wrooom is the traditional Press Ski Meeting or the annual event of Ductai in which the Italian firm reveals its 2013 MotoGP line-up every year. The event was held at Madonna di Campiglio, in Italy. The newly joined super racer, Andrea Dovizioso and the existing rider, Nicky Hayden were the highlight of the program. Meantime, Ductai also revealed its 2013 MotoGP machine, the Desmosedici GP13.

The 2012 MotoGP season was a disastrous Grand Prix for the racing team. The nine-time MotoGP champion, Valentino Rossi, who was bought for 2012 and 2013 seasons to the Ducati Corse family from the Fiat Yamaha team, didn't explore as Ducati expected. It caused the team severely. And Rossi left the team to join back the Yamaha Factory team for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. In fact, the factory Ducati team has benn struggling since the withdrawal of the Australian professional motorcycle racer, Caser Stoner, who bagged the only MotoGP title of Ducati Corse. In 2011, Stoner joined back Repsol Honda and celebrated his come back with the Championship.



Meanwhile, in July, 2012, Audi AG's Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. Acquired 100% stake of Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. For €747 million.

"Last year was very important for Ducati. We became part of the Audi group, and we set new records in terms of profits, sales and production. We opened up new markets and achieved a significant share in those markets. It wasn,t as positive from a sporting point of view, but our company,s motto is ‘Never give up,, and with the ability to react that has always been one of our characteristics, we face 2013 with a new organization, ready to take to the track," commenetd Ducati Motor Holding CEO, Gabriele Del Torchio.

"It,s an honour to be here at Wrooom. It,s all organized perfectly, and it,s a great opportunity to get to know the Ducati staff better and meet many new friends. I was convinced to join Ducati in my first meetings with Filippo Preziosi because he made it clear that there are interesting plans for the future and that we can start to build something important together. If we work well, I,m certain that it will be possible in the future to fight for wins and the title," said Andrea Dovizioso, the newly joined Italian motorcycle racer.

"It,s a completely fresh start for us, and although there,s clearly a big challenge ahead of us, it,s also an exciting one. I,m really looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish. The future looks very good," added Nicky Hayden, the former MotoGP World Champion and the present rider of Ducati Corse.
